BCLUW High School choral program consists of three ensembles: Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Show Choir.
Concert Choir is the largest ensemble in the program. It meets every day and welcomes both young men and women. Concert Choir sings a mixture of choral styles, emphasizing accompanied music. As the core choir of the program, music literacy, vocal technique, and musicianship skills are emphasized. Chamber Choir is the auditioned, select choir that meets during the day. It is a small group of singers, both male and female. Chamber Choir performs both at school concerts, as well as around the city and state. Chamber Choir sings primarily A Cappella pieces in different styles. Show Choir is the ensemble that mixes singing and choreography to create an exciting show on many different levels. This ensemble is a non-auditioned group of both males and females. The group typically competes in approximately three competitions per year. |
